RADIO2000's LIVE BROADCAST AT THE PARK

On 24th May, the Lion & Safari Park proudly hosted Radio 2000 for an exciting live broadcast. The day was filled with energy as presenters Nathi Ndamase, DJ Sbu, Paul Mnisi, David Mashabela, and Ntombi Meso, among others, shared their adventures at the park with listeners in real-time. These popular radio personalities explored the park, describing its beauty and various attractions. Their enthusiastic commentary and personal stories offered a vivid glimpse into the park's unique experiences, captivating the audience.

Listeners enjoyed first hand accounts of the thrilling Shandor Tour and the stunning landscapes, making it feel as though they were right there with the presenters. The live broadcast also featured insightful interviews with our knowledgeable staff about the park's activities and offers.

ANIMAL SPOTLIGHT

We’re introducing our Animal Spotlight segment, where you will get to learn about the amazing animals that call the park home. We are excited to highlight the magnificent Sable Antelope in this edition and celebrate the thriving herd here at the Lion & Safari Park. As a species that has been reintroduced by us into the park, the Sable Antelope holds a significant place in the history of this area.

Historically, Sable Antelopes once roamed in huge numbers across the region, as noted in the book by Vincent Carruthers, "The Magaliesberg". Their striking appearance, with glossy black coats and impressive curved horns, makes them one of the most iconic antelope species in Africa. The herd has flourished, showcasing the successful efforts of our dedicated team in preserving and nurturing these beautiful animals in an area where they once naturally occurred.

ADVENTURE FOR THE WHOLE PRIDE

Join us for a abundance of fun activities this school holiday! Kids under 12 are FREE*, making it the perfect opportunity for a family adventure at the Lion & Safari Park. We have an exciting array of activities to keep your little ones entertained and engaged throughout the holidays. Enjoy thrilling pony rides and game drives that will captivate kids and adults alike. Our park offers an ideal blend of adventure and education, ensuring a memorable experience for the entire family.

A highlight of our holiday program is the Little Rangers Adventure Club, designed to educate and inspire young conservationists. This interactive programme teaches children about wildlife conservation through fun, hands-on activities. Kids will learn about animal tracking, bush survival skills, and the importance of protecting our natural heritage. It's a fantastic way to swap screen time for safari time, encouraging kids to connect with nature and develop a passion for wildlife.

When it's time to refuel, head over to our Wetlands Restaurant, which offers a selection of food and drinks to suit all appetites. Parents can relax and enjoy a meal while the little ones have a blast in our fun-filled kids play area. With a variety of delicious options and a vibrant atmosphere, the Wetlands Restaurant is the perfect spot to unwind and recharge.
