WHO WE ARE
The Lion Park has been a quintessential tourist spot that for half-a-century has had people visiting it, from all over the world. However, the park has shifted to a new location on the R512 Lanseria road, within the Cradle of Humankind from July 2016 onwards. It is now fondly referred to as Lion and Safari Park – an upgraded and first-rate facility that guarantees its visitors an unforgettable time.
The newly upgraded park abounds with a plethora of activities that are sure to excite and thrill those who venture forth within its confines. Visitors will have the option to embark on informative guided tours, or self-drive tours, during which they can come unbelievably close to Africa’s most beloved animals.
Among other unique experiences on offer, visitors will also have the opportunity to feed giraffes, ostriches, and variegated antelope species while they roam freely across the park’s 1200-hectare expanse. At times, these animals can also be seen near the Wetlands Restaurant

HORSEBACK SAFARIS & TRAILS

QUAD BIKES (ATV)

4x4 trails
Our World class safari park now has added a 4×4 driving experience like no other! It can be enjoyed by the Soft-Roaders, the more serious Off-Roaders and finally, sections are designed for the seriously equipped and suitably skilled Off-Roaders.
Your adventure will take you through our reserve getting up close and personal with lions, hyenas, wild dogs and cheetahs. The trail travels uphill and down dale with spectacular views. Various herds of wild animals share the property with you including the graceful Giraffe, spectacular Gemsbok and Africa’s largest antelope, the Eland. So you will have plenty of opportunities for great photos and classic memories.
Expect to travel on tame gravel roads, some lesser manicured tracks and then some climbs and descents through our quite challenging riverine trail. While most of the route is made up of grade 2 or grade 3 obstacles, grade 4’s and 5 also forms part of the path. Our trail has some extreme hills, massive rock beds and river driving for the very brave souls among you.
What sets our facility apart is the fact that you will get to see some of our amazing wildlife en route to the 4 x 4 trail start point.
