As the colder days set in, we say goodbye to the days of elusive animals hiding from the heat. Instead, cooler temperatures bring out the best in our resident wildlife, with predators like lions and cheetahs staying active throughout most the day and herbivores gathering around permanent waterholes, giving you front-row seats to some incredible sightings.

At Lion & Safari Park, we are passionate about nurturing the next generation of wildlife conservationists. Each year, we open our gates to diverse groups of students from various tertiary institutions, providing them with a dynamic, hands-on educational environment unlike any other.

This week, we were delighted to host students from NewBridge Graduate Academy (formerly known as Centurion Academy) for their Veld assessments. The park served as a vibrant, open-air classroom where students engaged directly with the very subjects they've studied in textbooks. They had the opportunity to identify different grasses and trees, gaining invaluable practical experience in botany and ecology alongside their lecturer Paola Vimercati.
